Aldagi Insurance Company has already reimbursed for the damage to the farmer Giorgi Ebanoidze in the village of Tamarisi in the Marneuli district. On June 20, 2015, hail destroyed 75% of the onion crop on George Ebanoidze’s plot. The Insurance reimbursement amounted to 232 thousand Gel, which was reimbursed to Giorgi Ebanoidze by Aldagi Insurance Company as a result of the simplified procedures.
The farmer joined the Agro Insurance Program of the Agricultural Project Management Agency in October 2014. The project supported 17 hectares of the onion crop, the insurance premium amounted to 30 345 lari, the Agency paid 28,560 lari and Giorgi Ebanoidze had to pay only 1785 lari.
Today the Manager of the Agro Insurance Program of the Agricultural Project Management Agency Mr. Levan Maghradze, Director of the Property Loss Management and Service Department of Aldagi Insurance Company Mr. Vakhtang Ebitashvili and local government officials in the Gurjaani district met with Giorgi Ebanoidze and visited the plots destroyed by the natural disaster.
The State Agricultural Insurance Program is implemented by the Agricultural Project Management Agency. The program aims to promote the development of agriculture in the country and the establishment of the insurance market in the agro sector. Therefore, as part of the second stage of the program, state farmers finance a large portion of the insurance premium (40% to 60%).
